Carole King

Carole King is a great American singer, songwriter and pianist. Alongside her husband Gerry Goffin she wrote more than 2 dozen hits during the 1960’s. In 1971 she enjoyed her greatest success with the album Tapestry staying on top of the U.S album charts for 15 weeks. Amazingly it stayed on those charts for six years, the longest album by a female to remain on the charts and to maintain number one position.

The song Will You Love Me Tomorrow was the first song she wrote that was a number one hit in 1959 when she was still seventeen years of age. In more modern times she penned the hit song The Reason for Celine Dion. During the years between 1955-1999 she had written or co-written 118 pop hits on the Billboard Hot 100.

She has been inducted in the Songwriters Hall of Fame and also is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has collected four Grammy Awards to date. Not the most popular artists for music download websites, her fans revere her and most likely have been listening to her vinyl records since they bought them decades ago.

Carol has released 25 solo studio albums of which Tapestry, Really Rosie & Rhymes and Reasons are among the best.
